How do you change colored highlights that are white or gray?

I went to get blonde highlights foiled in my brunette hair and ended up with white/gray looking highlights. I have not had gray hair yet and this is very upsetting. I wanted to look younger not older.

sue the hairdresser! in no way shape or form should you have been bleached to white- you have been bleached too far and to put ANY colour on them now that contains peroxide will be a recipe for disaster! what you can maybe try is born blonde toners, as you will be able to see from the swatch list that i will provide you are supposed to be bleached to either the yellow stage or the pale yellow stage dependant upon which shade you want but just MAYBE you can TRY it on your hair as they are only temporary toners and do not contain peroxide or ammonia so will not be harmful or damaging to your hair and will gradually wash out if you don't like the shade: http://www.clairolprofessional.com/dispe... but baby your hair as you have been bleached too far you are VERY likely to have a lot of broken, damaged hair now, and please remember in the future that pale yellow is the furthest that ANYBODY should ever be bleached to.

give it 2-3 weeks then re-do the colouring this time make sure its blonde.

this will give it enough time to recover from the earlier colour stripping

doing it sooner than that will coz hair damage

you need to go back to the salon and request to have your hair highlighted again to your satisfaction. dont try doing it yourself could lead to alot of hair damage/breakage. your hair stylist shouldnt have a problem with re-doing your hair free of charge. hope i helped ya

I would go back and ask them for a re-do, it cost enough to get it done in the first place you should be happy with it and you're not!

Can I just say you are very lucky to not have any grey hair, I found my first white one at 21 and will be 28 next month and I have quite a few, worst thing is they won't take colour so i'm stuck with them!
