Mixed race hair products?

Hi, I can recommend a few products for you.. and they'll work!!!

1/ For dry scalp try using Top Brass you can find this in black hair shops its in a blue %26amp; white box. (鎷?.50) Part hair and rub into scalp at least once a day/night. Twice a day if you have time, this will diffinately clear the problem up.

2/ For maintaining healthy curls that dont frizz try using Kerastase Oleo Relax (orange products only) shampoo (鎷?1) conditioner (鎷?6) and hair serum (鎷?4.50) use the serum when you are ready to style your hair...it works wonders, after a few washes with the above you will easily notice your hairs managabitly and the definition of your curls.

Wishing you luck, as I know what a pain our hair can be!!!

Expensive: Aveda, Paul Mitchell and John Frieda. You can find the last two brands at Target.

Inexpensive: Pantene products for women of color in the copper/brown colored bottles. These are also at Target

It all depends on what you'd like to do... keep it curly, straighten it or just get rid of frizz.

Keep it Curly

Try a curl enhancing shampoo from Pantene or Aveda

Straighten

Don't get relaxers because once you start you'll have to continue. A good technique is a roller set followed by a blow dryer.

Get Rid of Frizz

Use the John Frieda or Pantene anti-frizz products.

Have you every tried Cantu Hair Products? Try a search for them (I don't think I can post a link).

I use the conditioner and it is consistently helpful in controlling my dry scalp while moisturizing my hair and retaining my curl pattern. I also suggest NOT shampooing every time you wash your hair, but instead using a small amount of conditioner to "wash" it (rub this into your scalp and hair, same as you would with shampoo and rinse). I don't buy the shampoo, but do stock the conditioner.

Unfortunately it is hard to find. I can only find it in one store (Wal-mart, at only 1 out of 2 stores here) in our City.

Hi!

My best friend is also mixed race and has extremely curly hair that needs to be carefully treated. From what I know about her, she does not use to many hair products. Most of the time she combs her hair with a large brush and then ties it back in a large braid, but she also goes to a black hair salon to get her hair braided and relaxed so that it is easier to manage. If you don't want your hair to be frizzy and dry, visit a hair salon that is focuses on your type of hair and get your hair relaxed. Relaxed meaning that the hair is not frizzy and can be straightened.

Well I hope this helps =D

i understand exactly what you mean. i have the same kind of hair. and what i find that helps the most is keeping the hair well moisturized like with oils and so forth and when you wash a little tip is to mix olive oil with your conditioner but lo and behold they are now making hair products with different oils in them. you should check your local Sally's beauty supply and spend a while in there, surf the products you will surely find good hair products there.

i am mixed and i just now learned how to do my hair, one way to reduce frizzieness is to wrap your hair EVERY night before you go to sleep, if you don't just sleeping on it wears and tears on it, before you wrap your hair use a moisturieser, when you wet it in the morning it is more managable and less nappy, use a curl reactivator product such as curls up which can be found at walmart and i also run baby oil through my hair it makes it shiny and holds in moisture and it also controls my curls and keeps them nice and purdy

Someone answer your question saying to use baby oil. Never use baby oil in your hair. it's too greasy, makes your hair limp and hold dirt. You can use Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion to your hair and scalp.

I have struggled with trying to find good hair products for my mixed race hair (i am black, white and asian). The best product I have found for tamming frizz and keeping my curls at bay is actually Nioxin Silk Elixir. It is a conditioning treatment that repairs damaged hair. It leaves my hair smelling gorgeous, moisturized and soft!! Its really great.

As for when I'm straightening my hair I like to use Matrix Sleek.Look. I use the shampoo and conditioner and then I use the styling creme to staighten. This works really good too!

As for the dry scalp- I know exactly how you feel, it's all because of the amount of product you use to keep your hair tame! Try using only a dime size amount of each product you use in your hair and washing with a moisturizing shampoo once a week (twice at most). It's good to leave the natural oils in your hair to make it look healthier.

Hope this helps!
