What should i do with my hair?

im a cheerleader i have comp. this weekend. i dont want to do a regular ponytail with curls i wanted to do this:

a rubber band(tiny) put a chunk of hair in it open that chunk up in 2 then wrap it. then open that up in 2 all the way till u get into the crown of ur head then i would put it in a pony tail

but i hve no idea what it is.

what is it called? and any other ideas what i can do

im white(saying i dont have black hair)

i have supper straight hair that wont hold a curl for more than a min.

I know what you're talking about I think. It almost looks like a net? I don't think it has a specific name but I think that would look cute. For a competition I think that would work. My only concern would be someone being picky because someone's finger could get stuck in it depending on how loose it is, but I say go for it.
