Hair dye transition?

can someone tell me how to color hair in a way so that it gradually transitions from one color to the next. i want to make a lock of my hair change from blue to white as it goes from root to tip

dye all your hair blue. then bleach it out on the areas you want white.

from blue to white? nice!!! but i dont really how to do it. why dont you try applying blue at the top then white at the bottom then gently (not evenly) spread the colors through your hair, forming a gradient. that will do. maybe.

I used to have my hair dyed in bands of color with white showing through. Have the lock of hair bleached. It make take more than one application of bleach. I used to have to do it 3 times to get mine really white and I'm a redhead. Then use a blue like Manic Panic to dye just the top part. Really bright dyes wash out fairly quickly and need to be reapplied pretty often.
