Hair growing question?

I am white, no baldness, almost no body hair. Male

When I was a teenager I tried to grow my hair long. It reached a certain point and just matted..looked like dog fur that hasnt been brushed, closest as I can describe it. Nothing made my hair grow beyond my collar.

Now I am considering growing a bear tail (thats like a rat tail but its 3-4" wide)

WHat can I do to help it along? If it stops growing when it reaches my collar how can I prevent this?

Cutting your hair has nothing to do with whether or not it grows faster- what you need to concentrate on are the roots, not the ends of your hair, they have nothing to do with growth.

Try putting some peppermint oil into your shampoo, and washing with it. The peppermint will excite the follicles, causing it to grow.

A shampoo that also helps your hair grow is called Nioxin. The only place I can think of that you can purchase Nioxin from is ebay, but peppermint oil should be available at the GNC or at a World Market.
